EFCC seeks transfer of Kalu's case file

Orji Uzor Kalu, Former Governor of Abia State and Senate Chief Whip, has called on Governor Okezie Ikpeazu to consider fixing some of the important roads in the state.

Senator Kalu in a statement on Saturday, listed the dilapidated roads as Umuahia-Uzuakoli, Akara-Alayi, Igbere-Item and Abiriba-Ohafia roads.

Kalu also dismissed the insinuations that the deplorable roads are federal Infrastructure, adding that they are state Infrastructure.

He said: “Despite not falling into my senatorial role, I had initially appropriated One Billion Naira as part of the 2021 capital project, but the Federal Ministry of works is yet to take action on it.

“When I was Governor, I built the road and maintained it. Ever since I left, there has been no new investment on the road despite being one of the busiest roads in Abia”, he added.

Kalu further called on the State Governor to ease off the stress on that road by taking urgent action on it.
