Enugu State Governor, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi has signed the anti-open grazing bill into law.

The signing took place at the Government House, Enugu.

The state House of Assembly had last week, passed a bill for the prohibition of open grazing, regulation of cattle ranching.

House Leader, Ikechukwu Ezeugwu, had explained after the passage of the bill, that it would be cited as the “Prohibition of Open Grazing and Cattle Ranching Law of Enugu State,” after the governor’s assent.

Enugu joins Abia and Ebonyi as the only states that currently have anti-open grazing laws in the South East Region.
