Gunmen suspected to be cultists have killed about seven persons in Okpuno Community of Awka, Anambra State capital.
Standardobservers gathered that the shooting lasted for about one hour as the gunmen tracked their victims and shot them.
Eyewitnesses said two persons were killed at the popular Goodwill junction, while 6 others were killed at Okpuno inside.
The killings caused panic as residents scampered for their lives into the safety of their homes.
As at the time of filing this report, the Anambra Police Command has not offi3 reacted to the killings.
When contacted, spokesman of the command, Ikenga Tochukwu said he had not been briefed on the development, promising to get back to our correspondent as soon as he is briefed.
