Orji Uzor Kalu, the Senate Chief Whip says he will invite the Nigerian Army and Air force to bomb criminal hideouts in Abia bushes.

He said that the aircrafts that will carryout the bombings will start arriving in September while the bombing will resume in November.

He, therefore, urged youths living in the bushes to relocate, adding that “Anything they find, they will kill”

Kalu’s warning came on the heels of repeated insecurity and kidnapping for ransom in parts of the state, especially the Umunneochi-Isuochi axis and Okigwe-Umulolo axis of the state.

Last week, Kalu was caught in a cross fire between hoodlums and soldiers during a campaign visit to Ohafia. He was forced to take cover at the 14 brigade headquarters in Ohafia.

Speaking on Sunday during a visit to Umunneochi, Kalu who represents Abia North said President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the use of bombs on criminals in the bush.

He said: “We have concluded plans and in the next one month, they will start arriving and by November, they will start bombing the bushes.

“We’re warning our people in the bush to leave the bushes now, except those going to the farms. Anything the soldiers see in the bushes, they will kill.

The former Abia State Governor said that Igbo business owners lose N25 billion each day they stay at home, adding that Indigenous investors no longer invest in the region.

He also regretted that he was no longer the governor of the state but vowed to meet with Governor Okezie Ikpeazu to discuss the rising insecurity in the state.
