Nigerians not happy with Buhari's government - Rochas

Rochas Okorocha, the Senator representing Imo West Senatorial District in national assembly has said that if the people of South East should leave Nigeria, its people like him that will say it and not the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB.

IPOB has been agitating for the secession of the region.

Rochas said that it will be a lie if he denies that the people who are agitating for secession are unknown to him, adding that the are Igbo children.

He stated this in an interview with BBC pidgin.

“They’re our children. We know them. If they know what we know, they will not be agitating to leave Nigeria. Leave to where?”

The former Imo State Governor also said that only dialogue and engagement with the government will end the agitation.

According to him, the agitation is as a result of rising poverty amongst the youth, which he said, if not checked will put Nigeria in bigger problems.

On the quest for the South East to produce the president in 2023, Rochas said that the South South and South West should see reasons with the South East and support the region’s quest to produce president.

He said that South West has had it for 16 years as president and vice president while South South has had it for 10 years as president and vice president, adding that it is only South East that has not produced either president or vice.
