The vice-presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Ibrahim Shettima has explained that he wore sneakers with a suit to the Nigerian Bar Association, NBA conference to scorn lawyers.

Shettima said he got information that the lawyers at the convention were hostile.

His explanation followed the uproar caused by his out-style dressing to the largest association in Nigeria.

Shettima had gone to the conference to represent Bola Tinubu, the party’s presidential candidate who was unfit and currently attending to his frail health in France.

While briefing supporters after the conference, he claimed the conference was funded by the Lagos State government.

“Subsequently, they moved to Eko Atlantic City, a product of an idea conceived by Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

“When I sent my recon team, one of the presidential candidates, he funded his agents. They held meetings for three nights consequently, to plan mischief.

“When I was told it was a hostile crowd… I’m a banker, I was trained by one of the best bankers in the world. I’m a Jim Ovia boy. I deliberately wore sneakers to snub at them.”
