Gunmen have killed two police officers in the Udung-Uko community in The Nigerian Police Divisional Headquarters, Udung Uko Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State.
An eyewitness said the attack was carried out on Sunday at a sit-out near the Divisional Headquarters.
The source explained further that after killing the two officers, the gunmen took their guns from them and went away.
The attack followed a similar attack on a stop and search post of the police at the artisan market area of Enugu, where two officers were gunned down.
An ambush by gunmen on a patrol vehicle of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps operatives led to the death of three persons.
