Gunmen have killed the All Progressives Congress, APC ward chairman in Igbo-Eze South local government area of Enugu state.
The deceased identified as Lucky Idoko was shot dead on Saturday in his hometown of Unadu in Igbo-Eze South.
Eyewitnesses said Idoko was killed in broad day light while riding on his motorcycle.
Community sources said the reason for his murder may not be unconnected with his activities as the chairman of Vigilantee group in his community.
The State Police Public Relations Officer, Daniel Ndukwe confirmed the killing of Idoko.
He, however added that the command has launched an investigation to identify those behind the act.
He said”The command has launched an investigation into the case of the alleged shooting and murder of one Lucky Idoko ‘m’, at Unadu community of Igbo-Eze South LGA, in the afternoon hours of 08/10/2022, by yet-to-be-identified armed hoodlums.
