A popular Radio Station, Wish FM 99.5 and the Atlantic Television Network located in the Ozuoba community of Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State, were on Tuesday night attacked with explosive devices.
The media houses belonging to the House of Representatives member representing Port Harcourt constituency, Chinyere Igwe were attacked by gunmen with dynamite and sporadic gunshots.
The station manager, Ngozi Vivien said the incident occurred around 8:40pm and led to the destruction of some equipment and property in the facility.
She said the gunmen shot severally into the office of the chairman of the media organization while dynamites destroyed it’s signal equipment.
Igwe is a supporter of the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar.
Igwe who confirmed the attack said he was happy about is that no life was lost.
When contacted, the spokesperson for the state police command, Grace Iringe-Koko, said she had yet to get the report of the incident.
