Okechukwu Okoye, member representing Aguata 2 constituency in the Anambra State House of Assembly has been abducted by gunmen.
Okoye was abducted on Sunday afternoon along Umuona – Isuofia Road, Umuona in Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra State.
He is the assembly member representing governor Chukwuma Soludo.
The gunmen whisked him away and abandoned his vehicle, a black Toyota sienna.
When contacted, Ikenga Tochukwu, the public relations officer of the Anambra Police Command confirmed the development.
He, said operatives of the command have launched a manhunt for the kidnappers.
