Governor Chukwuma Soludo has assented to the 2023 appropriation bill.
It is the first full fiscal annual budget to be proposed by the present administration, totalling N259 billion.
The function was performed by the Governor at the Governor’s Lodge, Amawbia, flanked by the Deputy Governor, Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim, Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Uche Okafor, Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, Ms Chiamaka Nnake; and the Deputy Majority Leader at the State House of Assembly, Hon. Emeka Afrika.
While describing the timely passage of the budget as a productive partnership, Governor Soludo thanked the State House of Assembly, saying that it is a march toward achieving the transformation agenda of the present administration.
According to the governor, passing an act of parliament is a fundamental job, and we should applaud them for expeditiously scrutinizing and passing the budget into law.
While expressing optimism that the dreams promised the people will be achieved in spite of all the odds and challenges in the country, Governor Soludo assured that his administration will keep pressing on all cylinders to ensure good governance for the people of the state.
On November 10, 2022, the governor presented the draft estimate of N258, 970, 175, and 905 to the Anambra State House of Assembly.
The budget is tagged, “Budget of Acceleration.”
