The family of Life Sunday have raised the alarm over the alleged death of their Son in the custody of the Octopus Strike Force unit of the Rivers State Police Command.

In an interview with our correspondent, Leegbari Sunday, Elder brother to Life Sunday, narrated that his younger brother Life was arrested around Odani area, Elelewon in Obio/Akpor Local Government area of the state, 7 October 2022, and they are yet to see him.

Leegbari Sunday disclosed that Police officers at the Octopus Strike Force unit had told him his brother was arrested based on a petition written by a prominent person in their Town in Ogoni, which alleged that a suspect was a notorious person.

He further lamented that since they arrested his brother, the Police have denied them access to see him, including his brother’s lawyer.

According to him, they have met severally with the Octopus Strike Force unit telling them to charge their brother to court if he has committed any crime, but the Police declined.

Leegbari Sunday revealed that recently the family got reliable information that his brother Life Sunday died in Police custody in the process of torture.

He called on the Commissioner of Police, CP Effiong Okon, to tell the Octopus Strike Force unit to produce his brother (Life Sunday) in public or court if they claim he is alive.
