23-year-old investment scheme owner disappears with investors' funds

The family of the embattled founder of Ovaioza Farm Produce Storage Business (OFPSB), Ovaioza Umu Yunusa has expressed worry over the state of her health as she spends the eight-day in police detention.

Mrs Yunusa was arrested with her husband, David on the 18th of April and taken to the Lugbe Police Station.

She is accused of defrauding investors who deposited money in her storage business to the tune of N10 billion.

But the news of her arrest saw hundreds of aggrieved investors converge at the division.

They later looted her relaxation centre at the Federal Housing Estate, Lugbe.

The investors were seen screening “thief”, “criminal” at the embattled OFPSB founder.

Fearing that they might mob her, the police moved her to the command headquarters for safety.

The matter, it was learnt, has been transferred to the SCID of the command.

A family member, Kazeem Yunusa said that police have failed to charge her in court since she was arrested eight days ago.

He added that she has fallen very ill in police custody and needs proper medical attention.

According to Kazeem, their family is very worried about her safety and the quantity of medical attention she is receiving in custody.

He added that they have formerly applied to have her taken to a good hospital for proper medical attention but have not gotten any response from the police.
