A relaxation centre owner in Ukpor, Nnewi South Local Government Area of Anambra State, Anochie Ezechukwu has been arrested by personnel of the Nigerian Army for allegedly offering services to unknown gunmen at his business premises.

Mr Ezechukwu popularly known as ‘Wiselabour’ was arrested on Tuesday at his business premises and whisked away by the soldiers.

His family said that he has not been heard from since then.

The family said that the operatives of the Nigerian Army and other security forces stormed his business premises. They also destroyed his bar, tied him up like a ram about to be slaughtered, and inflicted some fatal injuries on him before whisking him away to an unknown destination.

They said that the business owner was never on the run, never had any criminal questions/allegations/records on his head and was not in hiding, and neither did he gave any form of resistance to the arrest. They wondered why he would be tied up like a Chicken.

According to them, the army trampled on his human dignity, stripped him naked and reduced him to nothingness after destroying his place of business.

His wife, Agnes Ezechukwu told newsmen that to date, no member of their family and friends have been able to locate him.

She added that the accusation against Mr Ezechukwu, that some unknown gunmen may be patronizing his business is not an offence since he runs and manages a Bar/Relaxation Spot and does not know the handwork of everyone that patronises his business.

The family has, therefore, pleaded with the general public to come to their aid.

According to them, the life of Mr Ezechukwu, a responsible hardworking Nigerian must not be wasted just like that.

“He is a family man. His wife must not be made a widow for no just cause.

“All the family ask is that they know his whereabouts. It is his constitutional right to be entitled to a fair hearing, and be treated with dignity no matter the allegation. He has the right to his family and legal representation”
