Press Release

On behalf of The Council and the entire members of the Nigerian Institution of Estate Surveyors and Valuers, I announce the death of ESV Gab. U. Ofoma, FNIVS, RSV, Principal Consultant and Managing Partner of Ofoma Associates who was gruesomely murdered by unknown gunmen yesterday. I also offer our deepest condolences to the family of our beloved senior colleague, a Fellow and elder of the Institution.

A member of the International Real Estate Federation and a senior member of the American Appraisers, among others. ESV Ofoma was a man of depth and wisdom. He was an astute leader, bridge builder, mentor, role model and father figure to many Estate Surveyors and Valuers.

For about 33 years, he was in active professional service, making contributions to the growth and development of the Institution. With wisdom and foresight, he piloted the affairs of the Rivers State Branch when he was the chairman and later the Sole Administrator. His legacy includes setting the Branch on a sound footing and represented us well in The Council. He would be remembered for the good works he did, for the courage he exhibited in service, and for the lives he impacted within and outside the profession.

As a person, I have lost one of my reliable and dependable advisers.

We honour his legacy and mourn his loss alongside his family, friends, associates and loved ones. Our prayers and support are with you in this difficult time.

May his soul rest in peace

ESV Sir (Chief) Emmanuel Okas Wike, PNIVS, RSV
