Simon Ekpa, the Self-styled disciple of the Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu has promised to make South East governors lose sleep unless they implement the ban on open grazing.

Recall that the Southern Governors Forum had set September 1st as deadline for the promulgation of anti-open grazing law in member states.

At the expiration of the deadline, only two states in the region have banned open grazing through a legal framework. The states are Abia and Ebonyi.

While Enugu’s bill for the prohibition of open grazing is currently before the state house of assembly, Anambra State has not complied with the directive.

In Imo State, Governor Hope Uzodimma had said that such law does not exist in the state, signifying his intention to break ranks with the decision of the Southern Governors Forum.

According to Uzodimma, farmers and herders in the state have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to ensure peace reigns.

He was, however, countered by the state assembly which said that the law exists and was assented to be the Achike Udenwa’s administration in 2007.

The assembly also said that it would flesh up the law to conform with present realities.

But Ekpa in a tweet promised to create hell for governors who fail to ban open grazing.

He wrote: “Any Governor from the Eastern Region that is yet to implement the ban on open grazing as of Yesterday 1.9.2021, you’ve officially declared yourself the enemy of your own people and we will make sure you lose sleep until you implement it”
