As Muslims across the world mark Eid-el-Maulud in remembrance of the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad, their counterpart in Rivers State has knocked Governor Nyesom Wike over religious bias.

Speaking with our correspondent, the state Islamic Leader and Vice President-General, Rivers State Council for Islamic Affairs, Alhaji Nasir Uhor said Muslims in the state have not enjoyed any special benefit nor attention from the Wike led-government.

The state Islamic leader also said that the governor misinformed himself about the situation in the state when he (Wike) repeatedly said the state is 100 percent Christians.

“I think the governor misinformed himself when he said the state is 100 percent Christians.

“Same governor recently commended Muslims in the state for being loyal and supportive of his administration which has annulled his statement of 100 percent Christian state.

“In terms of special benefit and attention, we the Muslims in the state have not enjoyed any from Wike’s administration,” he said.

Uhor also used the Eid-el-Maulud
to enjoin Muslims in the state to mark it the way the Holy Prophet Muhammad did.

He said, “the Holy Prophet Muhammad did not celebrate his birthday. He marked it by fasting, prayer, supplication, giving out charity and other good deeds.”
