The people of Emede Community in Isoko South Local Government Area of Delta State have protested the alleged refusal by the Federal University of Technology, Owerri to graduate an indigene of the community.

The community said on Tuesday that the school refused to allow one Philip Otobha to graduate since 2014.

During a protest to the palace of the traditional ruler of the community, HRM Johnson Egbo, the indigenes urged the king to intervene and get FUTO to graduate Mr Otobha.

Chairman of the Council of Chiefs, Solomon Agbada said the palace will take the matter up with the Federal Government.

According to him, if the said Otobha will be able to provide evidence that he went to school, wrote and passed his exams, the palace will meet with the school to understand why its senate has refused to graduate Otobha.

Otobha while speaking during the protest said he was given provisional admission into Project Management Technology Department with Matric number 20091700346.

According to him, some of his lecturers failed him in some of the exams he wrote, adding that the clerk of the committee set up to look into his matter told him that the University’s senate has asked the exams and records department to provide his results.
