Delegates got $2500 each to deliver Ikpeazu’s preferred candidates – Abaribe

Enyinnaya Abaribe, the Senate Minority Leader has said elected delegates in Abia State Peoples Democratic Party, PDP were given $2500 each to deliver Okezie Ikpeazu’s preferred candidates.

Abaribe who pulled out of the gubernatorial primary process after describing it a sham said the National Working Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party, sat with the governors and agreed to use only the elected 3-man delegates which was contrary to what the law said.

Speaking during a meeting with stakeholders of Abia South on Thursday, he said that no one knew when the delegates were elected adding that he wrote to the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC and the commission informed him that they were not aware of the delegates election.

He said that despite all entreaties to the party, it failed to resolve the problems.

Abaribe, however, said that he would announce his political direction tomorrow.

He said “Everybody will make a sacrifice,I have decided to make a sacrifice, I will never be part of anything bad for Abia State, what we won’t do is to step away from the Political process, by tomorrow, I will announce a new direction,you can follow me if you like”
