A businessman, Chief John Ezeanidike has empowered over eighty youths in the town Akwaeze in Anaocha council area of Anambra State.
Ezeanidike gifted them tricycles popularly known as Keke Napep, the fifth in the series.
Speaking through the chairman of Ezeanidike foundation, Chief Osita Udemba, the businessman said that the progress and well being of Akwaeze is always uppermost in his heart.
He said that the foundation had been giving scholarship to students in educational institutions to eradicate illiteracy in the town, adding that it was later extended to gifting of tricycles to unemployed youths in order to curb social vices among the youth and generally kick poverty out of the town.
Chief Ezeanidike urged the beneficiaries to live up to their expectations which will make them worthy sons and ambassadors of Akwaeze community.
He thanked his team for putting up excellent performances and encouraged them to continue with their good efforts.
Also speaking, the traditional ruler of Akwa eze, Igwe Ndubuisi Okpala, Ezennebo thanked the foundation for its charity work and encouraged the beneficiaries to maximise the opportunity for a better tomorrow.
On his part, the president general of Akwaeze Town Union, Chief Ignatius Maduka charged the recipients to be more responsible and help the security personnel to monitor movements in the town as they use the tricycles mostly in the hinterland.
Some recipients of the gift, Mr Chukwuebuka Okafor and Mr Obidi Okpala expressed joy and happiness, promising to keep to the terms and conditions of the foundation and to be the advocate of the peace their town has enjoyed.
Other dignitaries present in the occasion include Chief Felix Anunobi, the Onowu of Akwaeze community, Hon Osita Ikegwuonu the councilor representing Akwaeze ward among others.
