Operatives of the Ebubeagu Security Network have set over 10 houses ablaze in Izombe Town, Oguta Local Government Area of Imo State.

Community sources told Standardobservers that the state government-funded security outfit invaded Amakpuruede Community in Izombe at about 6 30 pm on Thursday and arrested scores of youths before setting houses ablaze.

This comes barely three weeks after 18 shops and seven cars were set ablaze by the vigilante group.

A source said “About an hour ago, they came to Amakpuruede community, the entry point to Izombe from Ejemekeruru.

“They started with massive arrests of youths and later shooting sporadically. It’s like some people got the wind of their coming and ran away into the bush. As I was coming back from Owerri, God saved me. If not that I was turned back by some okada riders and bus drivers, I would have ran into the heat of it.

“As as I am talking to you more gun(not dane) shots were heard. A lot of people here now live with and in fear. Something has to be done and urgently too”
