Students of the Ebonyi State University, EBSU on Monday protested the imposition of examinations on them without lectures.

The protest took place simultaneously on the school’s four campuses.

The protesting students barricaded several roads in Abakiliki and its environs.

They also displayed placards with inscriptions such as “no lectures, no examination”, “we are not here to write exams alone but to learn”

The students lamented that they have paid two years of school fees but wrote exams without lectures.

A Police team was seen trying to disperse the students with teargas.

Patrick Itumo, the public relations officer of the school did not immediately respond to inquiries for comments when contacted by StandardObservers but the Student Union Government President, comrade Okoro said the students were annoyed by the decision of the school’s management to force them to sit for exams without lectures.

He added that no student will write such exams.
