Bodies of two men earlier declared missing following the cult clashes going on in the Ogoni area of Rivers State have been found in shallow graves.

The cult clashes which began on Monday was alleged to have escalated when some suspected cultists reportedly killed a man in Gwara, and two boys from Uegwere Boue, a neighbouring community in the area.

The bodies, which were found on Friday and identified as Chief Ideebom of Tego Village and Nubari Ifaah, a retired teacher, were said to be residents of Kono Boue Community in Khana Local Government Area of the State.

Confirming the discovery, the Public Relations Officer of the Community Development Committee of Kono-Boue, Golden Nwibakpo, said the corpses were found during a search for missing persons in the wake of the deadly attack in his community.

He explained that the deceased teacher was a father of four and was not known to be linked to any cult group in the area.

The two men who appeared to have been shot in the chest and their lower abdomen, had been declared missing after the cult attack which claimed about six lives.

Meanwhile, the Public Relations Officer of the State’s Police Command, SP Nnamdi Omoni, has affirmed that men of the Force are in action, combing forests in the area to arrest fleeing members of the gang.
