As security agencies continue their onslaught in the South East, leaving communities in the North West vulnerable to attacks by terrorists, bandits have taken advantage of such vacuum to kill no less than 19 persons in Katsina, home state of President Muhammadu Buhari.
The bandits attacked Tsauwa village, Batsari Local Government Area of the State, killing 19 residents, while many houses were set ablaze.
It was gathered that the bandits also carted away valuable items from the community during the attack.
Dailypost reports that the incident occurred in the early hours of Tuesday.
When contacted, the state’s Police Public Relations Officer, Gambo Isah, confirmed the attack.
The PPRO was, however, unable to give details of the incident saying he was in contact with the Duty Police Officer, DPO in charge of the area for more details.
