Cross River State Governor Ben Ayade has presented a budget of 276 billion naira for 2022 to the state House of Assembly.

The budget tagged, “budget of Conjugated Agglutination” has an estimate of 106 billion naira projected for recurrent expenditure while 170 billion naira is for capital projects.

With 34 industries still under construction, Ayade said his government will not embark on new projects but complete present ones

“The 2022 budget tries to marry reality, certainty, aspiration and hope. It is a budget that will ensure that all the projects embarked upon are completed and commissioned by next year.”

He said by next year, his government will endeavour to pay outstanding gratuities in which the sum of N30 million and N50 million has been earmarked as a special fund.

He regretted that his administration has been misunderstood on all fronts.

He also explained that his intention has always been “to decouple the state from the civil service” and embark on projects that have the capacity to generate employment.
