APGA fixes date for Anambra guber primaries

The All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, says it would compel the All Progressives Congress, APC to provide evidence over its allegation linking the first lady of Anambra State, Mrs Ebelechukwu Obiano to the murder of a deposed traditional ruler, Alex Ezendiuno.

Edozieuno, 62 and his driver, one Chukwuemeka, were killed by suspected gunmen on last week Friday along Ezu Bridge, Otuocha, Anambra East Local Government Area.

Recall that the State Chairman of APC and the Director-General of the Andy Uba Campaign Organisation, Basil Ejidike, and Paul Chukwuma, respectively, had alleged that the death of a deposed Monarch, Alex Edozieuno was politically motivated.

The duo had during a press conference on Sunday said: “We have been receiving death threats; threats to our families from highly placed individuals in APGA including the wife of the governor and a member of the House of Reps, Chinedu Obidigwe.

“With this death, we felt we should address the press. We are calling on the law enforcement agencies – the police, the DSS to quickly move into action and conduct a proper investigation since the threats have now started translating to deaths.”

But the National Coordinator of APGA Media Warriors, Chinedu Obigwe, at a press conference in Awka, on Wednesday, urged the police and other security agencies to invite the leadership of the APC to shed light on their allegations.

He said: “The trio of Andy Uba, Paul Chukwuma and Basil Ejidike need to be interrogated by security agents for them to say what they know about the gruesome murder of Alex Edozieuno.”
