Collation and counting of votes have commenced at the ongoing special convention of the All Progressives Congress (APC) held at Eagles Square Abuja, the Nation’s capital.

A presidential flagbearer is expected to emerge at the end of the exercise, as 2,340 national delegates of the party have completed the casting of votes.

The voting, which began at about 2 am on Wednesday, ended by 7.45 am amid tight security.

With over 13 candidates in the race, there are indications that a winner will emerge between former Lagos State governor, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, and former Minister of Transport, Rotimi Amaechi.

Earlier, former Governors Godswill Akpabio and Ibikunle Amosun, among others stepped down for the party’s national leader, Tinubu.

Meanwhile, former Minister of Transportation, Amaechi and some delegates from Rivers State had alleged rigging of the election process.

The delegates, who stormed the voting arena alleged that some electoral officials were assisting the delegates who could not write, contrary to the earlier announcement by the electoral committee that only one electoral official attached to each state would be allowed.
