Anambra lawmaker slumps, dies in South Africa

Nnamdi Okafor, the majority leader of the Anambra State House of Assembly has died.

Okafor who represented Awka South Constituency 1, was said to have slumped early on Tuesday in a Hotel at Sandton City Johannesburg, South Africa

He was confirmed dead after being taken to the hospital.

He was in South Africa along with other House of Assembly members for legislative retreat.

The cause of his death is yet to be ascertained as at the time of filing this report.

His death comes barely two months after another lawmaker, Okechukwu Okoye was beheaded by gunmen.

Okoye who represented Aguata Constituency was abducted with his legislative assistant but their severed heads were found days later.
