Anambra guber: Group presents N2 million cheque to Soludo

The former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, and gubernatorial aspirant under the platform of All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo has urged the youths to participate in politics with the bigger picture of building a progressive society.

Soludo made this call while receiving the delegation of Youths Earnestly Seek Soludo, YESS, in his country home, Isuofia, Aguata local government area, Anambra State.

He also harped on the need for youths to become vanguards of positive change beyond political affiliations.

Presenting a cheque for the sum of Two Million Naira (N2,000,000) to support Prof. Soludo’s purchase of APGA expression of interest form, the Convener of YESS, Dr Nelson Omenugha explained that their reason for the support is to enable the youths hold him accountable, if he fails to meet the demands of Ndi Anambra, especially the youths.

He noted that politics is no longer business as usual as Anambra youths are now determined to play a key role in choosing a leader with regards to the future of the youths and that of entire state.

Soludo thanked the group for the gesture, and expressed belief that the society will get better if the youths will take ownership and participate actively in all the process that contributes to the overall development including politics.

He noted that, beyond elections, the society needs to be rebuilt from the root, change the orientation and mindset of the people, and identified youths as the major players in the mission for positive change.

In his remarks, the state Commissioner for Public Utilities, Emeka Ezenwanne, stated that choosing a leader should be based on character, integrity, and vision, and urged YESS to keep up the good work of contributing towards building a better society
