The gubernatorial candidates of the political parties in the November 6 Anambra Gubernatorial Election have signed a peace accord.
The signees include candidates of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, Professor Chukwuma Soludo; Peoples Democratic Party, Mr Valentine Ozigbo; All Progressives Congress, Senator Andy Uba; and the Young Progressives Party, Senator Ifeanyi Ubah.
The Signing of the peace accord was facilitated by the National Peace Committee.
The event which has become a pre-election day ritual since 2015 by the Committee is to engender peaceful and violent free elections in the country.
The Candidate of the Action Alliance, Ben Etiaba and that of APM, Geoffrey Onyejepu also signed the accord.
Present at the peace accord signing ceremony is the National Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Prof Mahmood Yakubu, Catholic Bishop of Sokoto Diocese, Most Reverend Matthew Hassan Kukah, representatives of political parties, civil society organizations and many others.
