Fubara Siminayi, a former Rivers State government house Accountant-General declared wanted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has won the gubernatorial primary of the party.
Siminayi, and four other Rivers State government officials were declared wanted for suspected N117 billion fraud, alleged criminal conspiracy, money laundering, misappropriation of public funds, and abuse of office.
The Commission’s Head of Media and Publicity, Wilson Uwujaren, called on the general public to assist in apprehending the Accountant-General and other suspects.
Uwujaren said, “We call on anyone with useful information as to the whereabouts of the Account-General to contact any of the Agency’s offices or the nearest police station or other security agencies.”
But Fubara defeated over 14 other candidates to win the party’s primary.
Out of the 23 local government areas, Fubara won 19 while the former secretary of the state government, Tammy Danagogo won one LGA.
A special assistant to governor Nyesom Wike on special projects, Dax-Kelly George and former Commissioner for Finance Isaac Kamalu one one LGA each.
