Dr Christian Madubuko, a former Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs, Indigenous Artworks, Culture and Tourism, in Anambra State under the administration of Willy Obiano has been rescued in Abia State by soldiers two weeks after he was abducted by unknown gunmen.
Madubuko was abducted days after he resigned from Obiano’s cabinet while accusing him of losing control of his government.

Madubuko in his letter of resignation dated December 11, 2020, cited “corruption in the system” as his reason for bowing out and called on the State Governor, Chief Willie Obiano, to “rise up and be in charge of his government.”
He was reportedly rescued in Isuochi, Abia state on Sunday and has now been taken back to Awka.
